Series creator Eric Kripke throws back the curtain on the upcoming sixth season.

Back in 2005, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles debuted in “Supernatural” as Sam and Dean Winchester, a pair of brothers dedicated to hunting down demons, ghosts and other assorted paranormal threats. “Supernatural” was originally envisioned by series creator Eric Kripke as a five season storyline, which concluded last spring with the defeat of Lucifer.

As the sixth season gears up for launch in the fall, Kripke has indicated that the series will move beyond the angel and demon stories that have dominated the two previous seasons.

“The great undiscovered country of ‘Supernatural’ is kind of right in front of our face: creatures and monsters,” Kripke told Entertainment Weekly. “We have had so many creature episodes but we haven’t actually explained where they came from — [similar] to the way we have explored angels and demons. How do they feel about the situations they are in? Are they from here? Where did the first ones come from? How did werewolves and vampires and shape-shifters all begin anyway? I thought that was a really smart notion on [the producer's] part, just exploring the history of that, because that was something that we never investigated on the show.”

“One of the first things Sera [Gamble] and Bob [Singer] talked to me about was that the angel thing is rightfully exhausted,” continued Kripke. “Not to say that angels and demons won’t be a part of the story line, because they will. Fans of CW’s hit series “Supernatural” are craving for season 6.Supernatural starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles. Before, Eric Kipke, the creator of the show, planned to cap Supernatural at the end of season 5.

It was the increased ratings throughout the fourth and fifth season that made him change his mind to make a sixth season. Unfortunately Eric will not totally be the showrunner in producing season 6 instead will be an executive-producer while handing over his reigns to Sera Gamble who happens to be executive producer before.
Padalechi and Ackles are both in a six year contract for the network who had the final decision in continuing the series. You will see both Padalechi and Ackles for at least one more season as Padalecki once said that if the show’s no longer compelling after a possible sixth season, he would not return for another season. This sixth and final season (as many believe) will deal more on relationships, specially between brothers Dean and Sam. Its basis will be from former seasons with “lots of meat-and-potatoes closed-ended episodes, and…a season-long story arc to weave in”. [Source]

“Supernatural” star Jared Padalecki married his former costar Genevieve Cortese this past weekend, according to E! Online. The ceremony took place on Saturday, in Genevieve’s hometown of Sun Valley, Idaho.

The couple, who met in 2008 while filming season 4 of the show (she’s now on ABC’s “FlashForward”), dated on the DL for more than a year. They got only just engaged in January!

Jared’s brother took on the role as Best Man at the ceremony, and both actors’ families (on and off screen) attended. Jared’s brother on the show, Jensen Ackles, who was one of the groomsmen, is also going to be tying the knot this Spring — he’s got engaged to “One Tree Hill” actress Danneel Harris last November.

“Our wedding party consists of friends and family that have watched us grow up and watched us grow in our relationship. We thank all of you for being a part of us and cannot wait to grow with you in our lives together,” the couple said.

Clif Kosterman, the bodyguard for Jared and Jensen attended the ceremony, as well, and tweeted this sentiment: “It was a beautiful ceremony in a beautiful setting. ”
