“Supernatural” returns to the airwaves of The CW on Friday, September 23rd, and finally the network has provided us with an official synopsis of the episode we already knew was called “Meet the New Boss”, in which Castiel takes on his new role as God. Something tells us he’s not quite the same as the old boss.
Episode 7.01 “Meet the New Boss” (9/23/11 Air Date; 9:00-10:00 PM):
Castiel (Misha Collins) doesn’t kill Sam (Jared Padalecki), Dean (Jensen Ackles), and Bobby (Jim Beaver) but warns them not to interfere in his business. Assuming his new role as God, Castiel sets out to right some of the wrongs in the world.
Dean decides they should bind Death (guest star Julian Richings) and order him to stop Castiel, but the former angel is one step ahead of them, leaving Dean to face a very angry Death.
Meanwhile, Sam struggles to deal with the broken wall in his head.
Phil Sgriccia directed the episode written by Sera Gamble.

Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) are pretty good at what they do on Supernatural, but even the best occasionally need help, and that help will be Frank Devereaux when the demon-hunters need computer assistance.
According to Zap2It, Kevin McNally (Pirates of the Caribbean series, Valkyrie) will be showing up in the sixth episode of Season 7 (probably with less facial hair) as “mad computer genius” Devereaux, a friend of Bobby’s that reluctantly helps the Winchester brothers with a problem they have. Since Frank is not too eager to help the boys, I guess he might have a clue about what happened to the last computer guru (Ash) that helped them out, or maybe Frank just doesn’t like the idea of being a team player.
McNally is currently only set up for the one episode of Supernatural, but Sam and Dean seem to have a network of helpers no matter where they go, so there’s a possibility of Frank showing up again when the boys have a high-tech problem… assuming of course that he survives his first adventure with the brothers.
In addition to a new face, Episode 6, tentatively titled ‘Slash Fiction,’ also brings back Kim Rhodes as Sheriff Jody Mills.

Considering that the apocalypse was supposed to have occurred two years ago, the Winchester brothers are doing a good job of extending their journey.
The CW has renewed “Supernatural” for a seventh season alongside most of its returning lineup. “Supernatural” was created by Eric Kripke and debuted in 2005, with Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles as Sam and Dean Winchester; a pair of brothers who hunt demons, vampires and other assorted monsters.
The series was originally envisioned as a five season story, culminating with the narrowly averted end of the world, but the show’s continued popularity has given it another season once again.
