‘Supernatural’s Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles don’t get ‘Twilight’ treatment, do get used underwear

We’re all TV fans here, Zappers, but just how low would you go to get the attention of your favorite leading man?

Zap2it was on the scene in Vancouver at Creation Entertainment’s Salute to “Supernatural” on August 29, where stars of the CW’s horror show mingled with fans. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have always been vocal about thanking their considerably obsessed admirers.

“The fans of Supernatural’ are pretty cool. They’re not crazy ‘Twilight’ fans. They actually have some self-respect,” Ackles jokes. “I think we’re lucky in that aspect.” Read the rest of this entry »

Jared Padalecki: ‘Sam is more ruthless’

Supernatural star Jared Padalecki has revealed that his character Sam Winchester will be more ruthless in the upcoming sixth season.

Viewers saw Sam become trapped in hell in the show’s fifth season finale. Padalecki explained that the experience will dramatically change the character.

“It’s a part of Sam that I like to play [and] that we haven’t seen too much of,” he told The Futon Critic. “It’s a very tactical Sam.”

He confirmed that the new episodes will see the character “shoot first [and] ask questions later”.

“[He doesn't] worry about casualties or collateral damage,” said the actor. “He’s not heartless, he’s just more tactical. He’s seen what trying to do the right thing can do.”

Supernatural will return on September 24 to The CW. [Source]

‘Supernatural’ Sam, Dean ‘are reversed’

The executive producer of Supernatural has claimed that Sam and Dean have swapped roles in the new season.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Sera Gamble explained that Dean (Jensen Ackles) will now be more reluctant than Sam (Jared Padalecki) to go hunting because of his family.

“When we start the season we very consciously riffed a little bit on season one in that Dean is out of the business and Sam comes for him,” Gamble said.

“When we started the series, Sam had attachments. He had a girlfriend he was really serious about, and he had retired from hunting essentially. Dean was this very intense hunter who came for his brother.”

She added: “On the surface anyway, the situation is reversed at the beginning of the season.”

Gamble has previously claimed that the season premiere of Supernatural will focus on Dean. [Source]

‘Supernatural’ Season 6 Will Focus On Origin of Monsters

Series creator Eric Kripke throws back the curtain on the upcoming sixth season.

Back in 2005, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles debuted in “Supernatural” as Sam and Dean Winchester, a pair of brothers dedicated to hunting down demons, ghosts and other assorted paranormal threats. “Supernatural” was originally envisioned by series creator Eric Kripke as a five season storyline, which concluded last spring with the defeat of Lucifer.

As the sixth season gears up for launch in the fall, Kripke has indicated that the series will move beyond the angel and demon stories that have dominated the two previous seasons.

“The great undiscovered country of ‘Supernatural’ is kind of right in front of our face: creatures and monsters,” Kripke told Entertainment Weekly. “We have had so many creature episodes but we haven’t actually explained where they came from — [similar] to the way we have explored angels and demons. How do they feel about the situations they are in? Are they from here? Where did the first ones come from? How did werewolves and vampires and shape-shifters all begin anyway? I thought that was a really smart notion on [the producer's] part, just exploring the history of that, because that was something that we never investigated on the show.”

“One of the first things Sera [Gamble] and Bob [Singer] talked to me about was that the angel thing is rightfully exhausted,” continued Kripke. “Not to say that angels and demons won’t be a part of the story line, because they will. Castiel will be there. Crowley will be there. The beloved characters will [still] be threading into the story.” Read the rest of this entry »
