“Supernatural” star Jared Padalecki married his former costar Genevieve Cortese this past weekend, according to E! Online. The ceremony took place on Saturday, in Genevieve’s hometown of Sun Valley, Idaho.

The couple, who met in 2008 while filming season 4 of the show (she’s now on ABC’s “FlashForward”), dated on the DL for more than a year. They got only just engaged in January!

Jared’s brother took on the role as Best Man at the ceremony, and both actors’ families (on and off screen) attended. Jared’s brother on the show, Jensen Ackles, who was one of the groomsmen, is also going to be tying the knot this Spring — he’s got engaged to “One Tree Hill” actress Danneel Harris last November.

“Our wedding party consists of friends and family that have watched us grow up and watched us grow in our relationship. We thank all of you for being a part of us and cannot wait to grow with you in our lives together,” the couple said.

Clif Kosterman, the bodyguard for Jared and Jensen attended the ceremony, as well, and tweeted this sentiment: “It was a beautiful ceremony in a beautiful setting. ”

For nine months of the year, Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are possessed by supernatural entities. It’s like demons – or angels – have taken over their bodies and they are powerless to do anything but watch their days unfold through someone else’s eyes while they speak someone else’s thoughts and live someone else’s lives. Sorry, Sam girls.

Reps for Jared Padalecki confirm to us exclusively that the rumors are true, and he is engaged to marry former Supernatural costar Genevieve Cortese.

Padalecki plays Sam Winchester on the CW’s cult-hit series about a pair of demon-hunting brothers on a destiny run; Cortese appeared on the fourth season of the series as the second embodiment of the comely but eeeevil demon Ruby. (Melrose Place star Katie Cassidy played Ruby’s first iteration.)

So how did this happen, and when’s the big day?

The couple, whose characters shared some superhot sex scenes and a dysfunctional but intense relationship during their time together on the show, have been dating very, very stealthily.

Padalecki’s reps declined to confirm Internet reports of a late-winter wedding date.

AT SIX foot four inches tall and weighing in at 220lbs, most of it muscle, Supernatural star Jared Padalecki is a formidable presence both on and off screen.

But the man who battles all kinds of paranormal nasties with fists, knives, guns and even the power of his mind, on the cult TV show, reveals he is soft as a marshmallow inside when it comes to animals – and even cried at Marley & Me.

He was persuaded to watch the hit movie about a family and their disobedient dog by co-star Jensen Ackles, whom he noticed was looking suspiciously red-eyed after seeing it while the pair were flying back from Australia.

“I’ll admit it,” says Jared. “It totally got to me. I’d read the book and it was fantastic. If you haven’t seen it and you want to cry…”

Jared, who was in Birmingham recently to attend fan convention Asylum 3, dedicated to the show he stars in, is devoted to his dogs Harley, a mastiff, and Sadie, a German Shepherd. During holidays he even insists on driving them all the way from Vancouver, where the series is filmed, to his native Texas, after a friend warned him about the number of pets that die during flights. It seems like it was just yesterday that Supernatural season four was gearing up to premiere with the opening episode Lazarus Rising in which we would see Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) being pulled out of hell and restored to life and body by the angel Castiel (Misha Collins who is set to become a regular in season five) and see Dean being reunited with his brother Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) whom we would find out was headed down a dark path with the demon Ruby (now played by Genevive Cortese).Now here we are coming up on the season four finale, Lucifer Rising and the two brothers who were grateful to be brought back together are now being torn apart by their own personal issues and by the angels and demons each as chosen to side with in a race to stop the apocalypse.
